EMMA
Emma has over 20 years experience in the dog training field. She has been Internationally certified as a explosives detection dog handler & trainer, has trained, certified with Australia’s National Dog Trainers Federation. Emma has experience in the customer service industry and the security industry including training and handling of detection dogs for a variety of purposes. She has also studied Canine Myofunctional Therapy at the National College of Traditional Medicine.
Emma is continually striving to stay abreast of the latest knowledge of animal psychology and training methods, she regularly attends seminars and workshops, reads books, scientific papers, and listens to podcasts from the industry gurus.
Emma has had an extensive career in dog training including handling and training her Explosives Detection Dog, Harvey, training her 2 Dutch Shepherds, Omo in USAR and Quick Silver for Tracking and Search Work, Truffle Detection and the sport of Nosework.
The new member of the team Ninja the Jagd- German Hunting Terrier is proving to be a test of all the skills Emma has learned in the past and will open up new opportunities for learning beyond her current training for Truffle Detection and the sport of Nosework.
Emma is passionate about enabling and utilising dogs’ natural scenting abilities.

JAGD - German Hunting Terrier, 4 yo
Ninja spent much of her first year as a helper dog for socialising, teaching and assessing puppies and dogs at K9 Elementary dog daycare and training centre in Melbourne.
She is trained as a Truffle detection dog and for fun in the off season the sport of Nosework.
She is used as demo dog for teaching and assessing.
She loves the water, has very strong hunting instincts and is full of beans, her nick name is
"THE NAUGHTIEST DOG I KNOW!"
TEDDY
CHIHUAHUA, Rehomed to us at 6 months old now 1 yo
Teddy was to become an allergy detection/ assistance dog for someone else. But he came at a perfect time to fill the hole in our heart from the loss of Silver he has charmed his little way into our home and we could not part with him. He will still have to work for his supper so will be a helper dog for socialising, teaching and assessing puppies, dogs and humans at our training centre.
He is trained as a Peanut, Truffle and Egg detection dog and has recently been promoted to
"CHIEF SOCIALISATION OFFICER"
He loves the cats, chooks goat other dogs and all humans especially babies, really he just loves life!
He came with the name Teddy which we were going to change but it actually suits his cuddly nature and it lends itself to many variations... Big Ted, Little Ted, Teddykins, Teddles, King Edward...

SUGAR (Detection Dog FOR SALE $$$$)

Sugar will spent her first year with us in development to become a Truffle/Conservation Detection Dog.
We will concentrate on habituation and socialisation, teaching basic skils for life and detection.
She is used as demo dog for teaching and assessing.
She loves food, has very strong desire to be involved with whatever is going on and is full of beans,
her nick names are ....Sugar Plum Fairy Cake, Sugar Doogar and "PRINCESS "

Dutch Shepherd-Malinois
Passed suddenly in 2018 aged 8 from Cardiomyopathy Trained for Urban (disaster) Search and Rescue. Despite having a great nose, heaps of drive and energy - especially for toys and a love of barking she didn't make it because of her strong civil aggression genetic traits. She learned Nosework and tracking and loved helping to teach students about nosework , motivation, toy play and aggressive displays . |
HARVEY
Labrador Retriever Passed 2017 aged 13 from Mast Cell Tumor Obtained from breeder at aged 3 Trained and Certified with Emma as an Explosives Detection Dog He was an eternal optimist he enjoyed everything in life = work, food, playing fetch, tug, pats, swimming and goofing around Once retired he helped assess and train puppies and dogs, learned Nosework and helped train students. |
QUICK SILVER
Dutch Shepherd-Malinois Passed 2020 aged 10 yo from Cirvical Disk Disease Initially trained for Tracking and Area Search for lost pets.She was also trained to indicate Truffles and for sport of Nosework and was used as demo dog for teaching and assessing puppies, dogs and human students. Nick named the "FUN POLICE" She was the proud mother of 1 singleton who grew up to be an awesome security dog and moved to America with his owner. She had very strong maternal instincts and looked very closely over her flock. |
